Welding Inspection Services Limited was founded in 1983. The company secured its first major Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) contract at Aughinish Alumina Limited in 1987, operating at that time with a team of just three employees. Around the same period, the company also undertook work with Tullow Oil in Senegal. These early contracts were followed by further project awards from several major industrial companies, supporting steady growth in both workforce and expertise.
In 1989, the company carried out its first works for ESB at Moneypoint Generating Station. Since then, it has worked across most power stations nationwide, gaining extensive experience in the inspection of boilers and power plants. In 1991, the company expanded its operations overseas, successfully completing projects in Libya and the United Kingdom.
At present, the company employs 12 full-time staff and 2 part-time employees. In addition, qualified NDT subcontractors are engaged as required to support project demands.
